Contractor attended the highly-regarded Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario, Canada, for Pericles. After an entire year, she was awarded the role of lead. In 2002, Canadian reviewers praised her performance during 92 performances of Pericles. Contractor was given the chance to take part in the conservatory course, in which the top eight men and four females are selected for a 20-week crash course on classical theater which she was eager to take. Contractor got a confirmed place for the next season. She was also offered the role of Hermia.
